When I moved to the Triangle area to pursue a Ph.D. at UNC, I didn't plan to stay. But two unexpected things happened: I found myself surrounded by good people, and I bought a house that came to feel so comfortable and familiar that leaving was out of the question. In an unforeseeable twist, I had found my way home. Or rather, "home" had found me.
After I graduated from UNC, I took the next logical step for anyone with a Ph.D. in the Humanities: I became a realtor. I now apply the same perseverance and commitment to excellence that allowed me to graduate as a distinguished Royster scholar from one of the most competitive programs in the country to the important business of finding and selling homes in the Triangle. My goal as a realtor is to take much of the guess-work and happenstance out of finding for buyers a true home, where one can feel safe and relaxed in the surrounding community, and where one can enjoy the simple comforts of being. Because transitioning out of a home can be just as hard as finding one, I help sellers ensure that their home is fully valued, like the treasure it is.
A bit about me: Originally from Virginia, I lived in Indiana, Michigan, and Wyoming before settling in beautiful North Carolina. I am the married mother of two elementary school-aged daughters, a writer, and owner of a charming but sometimes naughty dog. I have an M.A. in American Studies from the University of Wyoming, a B.A. in Philosophy from Taylor University, and although it was a bit awkward at times, I attended Hampden-Sydney College (one of two all-male schools in the US) for three years while in high school.
March can be an uncomfortable month at our house since I am a Tarheel but my spouse, who is affiliated with Duke, cheers for the Blue Devils. Although I enjoy all sorts of activities (such as hiking, going to the public library, hosting dinners with friends), I find my true sense of purpose and fulfillment in helping people. This desire to help others, no doubt, is why I love the real estate business. Being a realtor also feeds my drive to tackle challenges, a proclivity that probably explains my current obsession with Crossfit.
If you're looking for a realtor who will give you and your project immediate and undivided attention, who is not afraid of challenging scenarios, and who is driven to serve, look no further. I would be honored to help you in any way I can.
